Definitions

"Service" refers to the Cooperius platform. "Institution" refers, where applicable, to the school or educational setting a User is affiliated with. "User" refers to any account holder — school staff, student or parent. "Content" refers to any document, assessment, message or other item created or uploaded to the Service.

About the service

Cooperius is a collaborative platform for school staff, students and parents. It brings together, among other things, interactive boards, class spaces, assessment grids, educational materials, an emulation system and communication tools. The Service evolves continuously: features may be added, changed or removed.

Who can use Cooperius

Cooperius is intended for people working in education, whether in a school or in private practice. A staff member creates their own account, with no invitation and no prior affiliation with an institution. Student accounts, however, are created and managed exclusively by a staff member: students cannot register directly. Parent accounts are created by invitation from a staff member.

Account creation and responsibility

You must provide accurate information when creating your account and are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for any activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized access.

Content and intellectual property

Content you create

Educational content you create or upload to Cooperius belongs to you. We make no claim of ownership over this content; you only grant us the license needed to host and display it as part of the Service.

Content you make public

You may choose to make a library accessible to other users of the platform. You remain its author, but you then grant Cooperius and its users a non-exclusive, perpetual and irrevocable licence to view that content, duplicate it and adapt the resulting copies for educational use. You may withdraw the library from sharing at any time: it then stops being accessible, but copies already made by other users belong to them and remain. Only publish content you hold the rights to and that you accept seeing reused.

Subscription and pricing

Cooperius offers a permanent Free tier, as well as Essentiel and Pro tiers offered at no cost until the start of the 2027-2028 school year. See our Pricing page for plan and price details; any terms applicable afterwards will be communicated in advance, before any fees are introduced.

Acceptable use

You agree to use the platform for educational purposes and not to post content that is illegal, offensive or contrary to your institution's policies, where applicable. The staff member remains responsible for overseeing their students' use of the platform.

Protecting the platform

You agree not to, for any purpose whatsoever, reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, trade or resell the platform's features, or reverse engineer them. You also agree not to bulk-extract library content: content shared by the community is there for teaching, not for assembling commercial collections.

Prohibited uses

You agree not to use the platform to:

• carry out an unlawful activity, or distribute unsolicited advertising and spam;
• post or make available material that is abusive, harassing, obscene, hateful, defamatory, invasive of another person's privacy, or discriminatory on the basis of race, sex, religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, age, family status or any other ground protected by law;
• upload material containing viruses or other malicious software;
• upload material you do not have the right to distribute or that infringes copyright, a trademark or another proprietary right — scanning a protected document is included;
• impersonate a person or organization, or misrepresent your affiliation;
• interfere with the platform's operation or circumvent the measures protecting access to it;
• attempt to extract the software that runs the platform;
• follow, track or collect information about another account or about the people using the platform.

No email address found in the platform may be collected or used for solicitation. You are solely responsible for any breach of these rules and its consequences; we may investigate a use that contravenes them and suspend access to the account.

Service availability

We make reasonable efforts to keep the Service accessible, but do not guarantee continuous or error-free availability. Interruptions may occur for maintenance, updates, or due to circumstances beyond our control.

No warranty

The Service is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including as to its accuracy, availability or fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you, for any cause related to the Service, is limited to the amounts you paid for its use in the preceding twelve (12) months. Nothing in these terms limits the rights granted to you by public-order laws applicable in Québec.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access to an account in the event of a breach of these terms, unlawful use, or to protect the security of the platform and its users.

Ending your use and what happens to your content

You may stop using the Service at any time. On request, we provide you with a copy of the educational content you created and delete it, subject to applicable retention obligations and to other users' rights. Libraries you made public remain governed by the licence described above. For a student account, the request goes through the teacher or institution responsible for the account.

Protection of personal information

Use of the Service is also governed by our privacy policy.

Changes to these terms

Cooperius reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Users will be notified of significant changes.

General provisions

Entire agreement

These terms, together with the privacy policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Cooperius regarding use of the Service. They supersede any prior communication or representation on the subject.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is held invalid, void or unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay fully in force and the provision concerned is deemed modified to the extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable — or, where that proves impossible, deemed not written. These terms do not form an indivisible whole.

No waiver

Failing to exercise a right or to rely on a remedy provided herein does not constitute a waiver of that right or remedy, which remains available thereafter.

Notices

We may send you any notice relating to the Service, including notice of a change to these terms, by email to the address associated with your account or by posting it in the platform.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the province of Québec and applicable federal laws of Canada. Any dispute relating to the Service falls within the jurisdiction of the courts of Québec.
