Random number

A number comes out of the range you chose, and the whole class watches it appear.

In your classroom

Calling on a student by number

You set the range to the class list numbers and call on a student by number, without naming them.

The whole class stays alert, and no one feels singled out by you.

Fresh mental maths

You draw from 1 to 10 for the youngest, from 100 to 999 for the oldest.

Everyone practises on a number no one prepared.

A page, an exercise

You draw a page, exercise or question number.

The class gets to work without you choosing.

Negative numbers

You draw an integer from -10 to 10 to order or add.

Students practise on real negative numbers.

A game, a lotto, a challenge

You draw a number for a game, a lotto or a challenge.

The moment is shared and the result is beyond dispute.

Your way

  • Minimum valueThe smallest possible number. Zero and negative numbers are fine.
  • Maximum valueThe largest possible number.
  • Animation durationFrom 0 to 10 seconds. The number scrolls by, then settles.
  • BackgroundThe background colour shared by all widgets, under “Appearance”.

Good to know

  • The minimum and the maximum are both part of the draw, and a minimum equal to the maximum always draws that number.
  • A minimum greater than the maximum is flagged when you confirm.
  • The same number can come up twice in a row. A click during the animation has no effect.
  • The result is not kept and, when the device asks to reduce motion, the number appears right away.
